WORST JAPANESE SUMMER EVER (AGAIN!)

The results are in! Japan has suffered it's worst summer ever. Again. Yes, 2025, it seems was even hotter than last year, which was also the hottest year ever.

As reported by the Mainichi:

"Japan logged its hottest summer since 1898, when comparable records first became available, with the average temperature 2.36 C above normal, the weather agency said Monday.

The reading for the three months from June to August topped the previous records set in both 2023 and 2024, when the mercury was 1.76 C above normal, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency."

"Normal" in this case simply means the 30-year average from 1991 to 2020. The number of locations topping 40 degrees Celsius reached 30, another record, with the inland town of Isesaki in Gunma Prefecture hitting 41.8 C in early August.

Anyone expecting things to cool down now that we have reached September, will also be sorely disappointed, with scorching conditions forecast to persist well into the month.
