This is a very pleasant little place, just a few streets away from the swirling mass of tourists and foreigners that unfortunately dominate one's experience of Kamakura these days.
After a visit to a well-known local shrine, Tokyo-Met enjoyed a peaceful and well prepared lunch here. Our table seemed to be in a kind of conservatory, well lit with plenty of natural light and greenery outside. It was all rather casual (jazz soundtrack), with lounge chairs and a low table, making it feel like eating in someone's house.
The menu included "koban bento" (chicken teriyaki on rice) (¥2,090), curry noodles (¥1,320), freshly baked meat pie (¥1,980), and a selection of sweets.
Our selection was the chicken curry with seasonal roasted vegetables (¥2,090), although another member of our party had seasonal roasted vegetable "donburi" (rice bowl) with a choice of "onsen" egg or roasted tofu (¥1,980). We all agreed the seasonal roasted vegetables were a winner.
